October 7, 2026 (Wednesday)

The 2026 Shinhan SOL KBO Postseason will begin on Wednesday, October 14, with Game 1 of the Wild Card Series.

The Wild Card Series will consist of up to two games. The fourth-place team from the regular season will advance to the Semi-Playoffs with one win or one tie, while the fifth-place team must win both games to advance. All Wild Card Series games will be played at the fourth-place team’s home ballpark.

The Semi-Playoffs and Playoffs will be best-of-five series, while the Korean Series will be a best-of-seven series. At least one travel day will be scheduled between each series. Postseason games postponed due to rain or other circumstances will be rescheduled for the following day. Subsequent games will proceed as originally scheduled if the postponement does not affect their scheduled dates.

Extra innings will be played through a maximum of 15 innings. If the score remains tied after the 15th inning, the game will end in a tie.

For all series other than the Wild Card Series, any game ending in a tie will be replayed after the final scheduled game of that series, at the ballpark where the tie occurred, on consecutive days without a travel day. If two or more games in a series end in ties, one travel day will be provided before the replay games are held on consecutive days.

No-game declarations and rain-shortened results will not apply during the 2026 KBO Postseason. Only suspended-game rules will apply.

If a game is suspended, only one game will be played per day, regardless of the inning in which play was suspended. The originally scheduled game will be postponed to the following day. If the following day is a travel day, the suspended game will be resumed on that day, and the remaining schedule will be pushed back by one day. If the following day is the date of the final scheduled game of the series, that game will be played on the day thereafter or on a travel day, and the remaining schedule will be pushed back by one day.

Each team may request up to two video reviews during regulation innings. If both reviews result in overturned calls, the team will receive one additional review opportunity. Each team will also receive one additional review opportunity if the game goes into extra innings.

Check-swing video reviews will follow the same procedures as in the regular season. Each team will receive two check-swing review opportunities and will retain an opportunity if the call is overturned. Each team will receive one additional check-swing review opportunity in extra innings.

The Korean Series will use the 2-3-2 home-game format introduced last year. Games 1, 2, 6 and 7 will be played at the regular-season champion’s home ballpark, while Games 3, 4 and 5 will be played at the playoff winner’s home ballpark.

The coaching staff limits will remain the same as last year, with one manager and up to 10 coaches permitted to participate in each game. If a team registers 10 coaches, one must be designated as a quality control (QC) coach or a performance analysis coach. Each team may register 30 players, with 28 eligible to participate in each game. Teams may register four foreign players, including one Asian quota player, and all four will be eligible to participate.

Regular-season games postponed due to rain may be played during the postseason if they involve teams not participating in the postseason or the relevant series. Games between teams not participating in the Wild Card Series may also be played on the travel day between the final day of the regular season and Game 1 of the Wild Card Series.
