Corporate Sponsors Rally Behind Team Korea for Second WBC Okinawa Camp
As the Korean national baseball team intensifies preparations for the upcoming World Baseball Classic (WBC), several major corporate partners are stepping up their support for the team’s second training camp in Okinawa.
The Korea Baseball Organization (KBO) announced that the national team will hold its second WBC training camp in Okinawa starting February 16. The camp will focus on refining tactical execution and sharpening in-game performance through structured training sessions and a series of exhibition games.
Shinhan Bank, the KBO League’s title sponsor since 2018, will accompany the team as an official sponsor during the Okinawa camp. The bank’s branding will appear on players’ helmets, training apparel, and uniform sleeves. In addition, Shinhan Bank will host a special “National Team Training Camp Tour” promotion, offering selected customers the opportunity to visit Okinawa and observe the team’s preparations firsthand. The company reaffirmed its commitment to supporting both league development and the national team’s global competitiveness.
Pro-Specs will also participate as the official training apparel and uniform sponsor for the second Okinawa camp. Since signing an official partnership with the KBO in 2022, Pro-Specs has consistently supported the national team. Following its assistance during the first training camp in Saipan last month, the brand will supply approximately KRW 240 million worth of official training gear and uniforms for the Okinawa camp. The newly provided apparel is designed to enhance functionality and mobility, ensuring players can train and compete in optimal condition.
Meanwhile, premium outdoor and travel gear brand BAMKEL continues its partnership with the national team by supplying premium 28-inch travel carriers and specially designed luggage covers inspired by the national team uniform. The equipment is tailored to meet the needs of athletes who frequently travel long distances, prioritizing durability, protection, and mobility. Beyond simple sponsorship, BAMKEL emphasized its commitment to creating a performance-oriented travel environment for the team. The company and the KBO also plan to launch official collaboration products utilizing the intellectual property (IP) of all 10 KBO League clubs in the future.
During the Okinawa camp, the national team will play six exhibition games against four KBO clubs—Samsung, Hanwha, KIA, and KT—between February 20 and 27. All games will be streamed live via Naver’s “Chzzk” platform and the KBO’s official YouTube channel, as well as broadcast on KBSN Sports, MBC Sports Plus, and SPOTV.
With strong corporate backing across financial, apparel, and travel sectors, Team Korea is building not only its on-field performance but also a comprehensive support system as it prepares for the WBC stage.
